Deanna Rose

The very last Friday possible that Deanna Rose was still open, I bundled up the girls and we made the trek out to Kansas to the "farm."  I love this place and hadn't been all summer or last summer (since Easton was still little I didn't want the hassle.) We had a great time and Emerson loved loved loved it.

Emerson fed the goats and called them a hot mess. It was awesome.

She also said she wanted to see horses (which I didn't think they had) and that turned into wanting to ride these fictional horses. Low and behold they a) had horses and b) had horse rides. Nothing like making a 3 year old's day.

Best $3 I ever spent.

Bailey

A few weeks back we had to put my dad's dog, Bailey, to sleep. She was 14 and had kidney failure and was in pretty bad shape. We got Bailey in 1997 as a puppy and I remember taking her for drives in my LeBaron in high school. I wanted to post a picture of Phoebes because she doesn't get as much love these days as she used to. Since Bailey died she's gotten a lot more lovin from all of us.

This is the t-shirt quilt my mom had made for me of all of my dad's favorite t-shirts. My dad wore the "Bailey" shirt all the time so I was glad I got that one. He loved that dog.  And so did we.

Baby's First Hair Cut

I know- you're expecting Easton. But Emerson had her first hair cut a few Saturdays ago. It was starting to grow in a V and I had been putting it off long enough.

My girlfriend Jocelyn's aunt, Lori, does my hair so we took Emerson in for her first salon experience. I thought she'd be a little freaked out but she really didn't seem to care one way or the other. Maybe because we kept feeding her candy.

I'm that mom with the baggie of hair in my hand.

Lori mentioned that the trim might make her curl bounce up even more and boy, has it. It's curlier than ever and just adorable.

Easton wanted to get in on the action.

Will's Birthday Party

My nephew Will, turned 6 last month and he had his party at GAGE (Great American Gymnastics somethingorother.) The kiddos loved it and we all had a great time.

It took a little coaxing for Emerson but after she got the hang of it...

... she was hooked.

I love that even though she's been walking for quite some time, she's still rocking those rolls...

Halloween Continued

My gitlfriend, Blair, had Jayme and me over for a Halloween afternoon date. Her son, Lincoln, is a week or two younger than Easton so they get along (fairly :) well.

7 Years

Our 7th wedding anniversary was yesterday so I surprised Ryan with reservations at the Bristol. We dropped the girls off at my best friend Amy's house (who they LOVE). Emerson was mad when we came to get her.

I love that after 7 years, 2 kids and 1 less job later, there's no one I'd rather spend my night with.
