Emerson's 5!

Emerson's taking gymnastics this year so we decided to have her birthday party at GAGE- a gymnastics place in Blue Springs.  The kids had a great time- hard to believe 5 years have already gone by.  Emerson is a sweet, funny, smart and kind little girl and an amazing big sister. 

 

 

 

Halloween

Halloween was great this year- holidays are getting more and more fun since both girls are understanding (and enjoying) the things we're doing.

It was Easton's first year for some "warm" chocolate.

 

Emerson picked out a Cinderella carriage pumpkin carving kit. Sweet Ryan never complained and just dug right in. I was pretty impressed with how it turned out!

 

I swear next year Easton won't be one of Emerson's sidekicks (last year she was Bullseye to Emerson's Jessie) but for one more year, it was adorable. She was Jasmine's Abu the Monkey.

Homecoming 2012

It was my 10 year reunion at Graceland this year. I'm not sure how that happened. One of Ryan's good friends, Darrick Jones, was also being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Ryan and Jonesy played baseball for 3 years together and he lives in Canada so it was good to see him and Debbie and meet his boys.

Parties Galore

Emerson's BF Audrey had her birthday party at a gymnastics place and Emerson had a blast. Audrey is 11 weeks older than Emerson and they've literally known each other since the womb.

 

Will just turned 7 and had his party at a bowling alley. He got to keep a bowling pin that all of his friends signed.

I'd say Emerson did a good job. Notice her curly hair???

 

 

That same day I took Emerson to a princess party. She got to have makeup put on for the first time...

There's a story here...  The princess party was held at Valley View High School.  When I was still working and pregnant with Emeson I was placed on light duty for the second half of my pregnancy.  I was watching another officer give a presentation for some students at Valley View (with my sister in law, who was also working there at the time, luckly).  After the presentation, I stood up to leave when I felt the proverbial gush, 2 weeks early, so I wasn't expecting anything.  I went into the bathroom and Amber came to check on me after what seemed like forever, we wrapped my lower half in towels, she drove me to the hospital and the rest is history.  Emerson and I passed by the bathroom during the princess party so I had to get her picture.  She'll understand later.

 

 

Preschool!

The same day the girls started dance, Emerson started preschool. To say the least, it was a busy day. Wednesdays are hectic in our house but they've turned out to be my favorite day of the week.

I was pretty emotional about Emerson going to preschool- she's been under my wing for the past 4 years and I wasn't worried about her going to school, I knew she'd love it. I was anxious about having to let go a bit and being tied down to a set routine. As I knew she would, she loves school, is always excited to go and comes home with the cutest crafts.  I've learned to love it too.  :)

 

Dancing Girls

Man, I'm a lucky gal.  Now I've got two little girls in dance class. It's been fun getting Easton all dressed up like big sister. I wasn't too worried about her not liking it or being away from me and turns out, she loves it.   Luckly both of their classes are on Wednesdays and the hardest part is the 15 minutes Easton has to wait after Emerson goes downstairs.  "It my turn now?"  Emerson is in a 1 hour dance class and then a half hour gymnastics class right after.  It seems like a lot but she's loving it- especially the gymnastics class.

For mom, getting ready is the best part...
