...and after!

So Ryan finished Emerson's room on Monday night, just in time to have the girls over for Bunco. It turned out great as you can see and it's just EXACTLY what I had envisioned. I think Emerson likes it too...

This room was our old guest room and just had a combination of my things and Ryan's things from our rooms in college. The curtains are from the previous owners... Kind of gross.

The walls were "Tiffany" blue when we moved in to this house. This color is actually an improvement, believe it or not. We literally painted this room the day after we moved in.

Emerson is skeptical of our plans...

Little does he know the amount of hours he's about to spend in this room... I haven't seen him smile since.

And we're off. We got the furniture out and Ryan tore up the heinous navy blue carpet. The blue tape on the wall is the guideline for the future chair rail.

Note the nasty ceiling fan. Ryan (like in the nursery) also had to paint all the woodwork in the room. This included 3 doors. I think it took him 3 or 4 coats.

Ryan folded the carpet into the center of the room to use as his work space.

It already looked so much better just with the blinds back up and the new ceiling fan in. Ryan only shocked himself once.
My shoes are a whole other issue. Yes, that closet is full of my shoes. If her feet grow abnormally fast, we can share!

And here it is. The finished product. The bed and dresser are from my room(s) growing up. They seem so much smaller now!

We'll put her in sometime after Christmas- I think she'll love it! Ryan is available for hire for the right price... :)

30 Weeks

So I'm 31 weeks now but we took this picture last Sunday at 30 weeks. I'm feeling good, for the most part, and haven't put on as much weight as I did with Emerson so that's a good thing. What I've gained so far, you'd have to double it for my pregnancy with Emerson... I'll let you guess. Anywho, we're doing great and Ryan finished her big girl room last night so I know he's eager for me to show off his great work. I'll have those pictures up very soon.

Ryan wanted to get in on the action. Wow.

She's 2!

Emerson turned 2 a couple of weeks ago and we've been going non-stop since. For her actual birthday, Ryan had the day off and we went to Build A Bear. It was awesome. Picking out the animal was the hardest part- when we asked her if she liked the bear, dog, etc. she said yes so we just had to pick something out. We went with a "mewse" (moose.) She loves it.

She wanted nothing to do with the loud blower thing.

But approved once it was all finished.

We took another picture of her by her tree we planted last year. This was last year's... A bit different!

We realized that every year for her picture there wouldn't ever be any leaves on the tree. I swear, it's more than a stick in our backyard. It had real leaves and everything and they even changed colors. They all fell off about 3 weeks before her birthday. Ha-rumph. Oh well.

So for her birthday party, I couldn't think of what to give the kids who were coming as their gifts. I'm the most UNcreative person on the planet so I was pretty proud of coming up with this one. I got clear cubes and developed pictures of Emerson with each of the kids who were coming to the party and put a couple of pictures in the cubes ahead of time. Then I left two squares blank and the kids decorated a square at the party to add to the cube (and keep them busy!) and I'm also mailing a picture of the child with Emerson from her party for them to add! Good idea, eh?

The cubes wrapped and all ready to be opened and decorated. I think they were a hit!

The best one we could get of the group- Hadleigh Bullcoming, Grace, Emerson, Ava holding Elijah Zimmerman and Will and Griffin Grice. Quite the group! Audrey was busy playing- can't say I blame her!

Elmo had seen better days...

So we went to Red Oak for Thanksgiving and Ryan's family had a birthday party for her as well! She's wearing an outfit Debi Hale (Amber's mom) MADE for her. Onesie and tutu and everything. It was awesome. "Cheese!"

Poor Uncle Chris. He just wanted to get Emerson a baby Elmo (since she loves him.) But she unwrapped the eyes first and I think it freaked her out. And that Elmo sings and dances and she's weary for some reason of things that make a lot of noise. Whatever. So she kept saying "Scared. Elmo." She loves her baby Elmo now and likes to sleep with him. We've turned him off but we're making progress... Good lord.

In Red Oak she got a Dora Cake which she LOVED as well. Ironic how the Dora cake decoration (a bath toy) was the biggest hit of the party. Girl loves her Dora. With Uncle Cole and Aunt Sarah.

And playing with her tea set from Grandma and Grandpa Wood. We put it in her big girl room and she says, "Pink Woom. Sit Down!" Which means, let's go to my big girl room (which is pink) and you sit down with me so we can have a tea party." Good thing I speak Emerson.

Her birthday parties were SO fun- I wasn't as stressed out as I was for last year's production.

She's talking more and more every day and literally is saying something new every day. Today it's, "yo welcome." So cute. Yesterday it was, "batteries." Interesting!
